Cassie's journey as a victim advocate began with her personal experience as a survivor, which fueled her deep empathy and strong determination to assist others in their recovery and healing processes. She recognized the urgent need for support and resources for survivors of human trafficking, sexual abuse, and exploitation. This realization inspired her to embark on a mission to provide comprehensive assistance, empowering survivors to reclaim their lives.

Through her community educational efforts, Cassie emphasizes the importance of prevention and intervention. She equips community members with the knowledge and resources needed to identify potential trafficking situations, intervene effectively, and support survivors in accessing the necessary help to rebuild their lives.

Cassie’s own experience overcoming child sexual abuse and exploitation, combined with her work over the years with local non-profit organizations such as the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), her role as Program Director for a local Human Trafficking Recovery Safe Home, and her efforts as a Credentialed National Victim Advocate and Community Educator through her LLC, Brave the Darkness, highlight her enduring passion and commitment to healing trauma—not only for herself but also for fellow survivors.

Recently, she stepped into a new role on the Board of Unstoppable You Ministries as Director of Training and Education, Cassie brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her work. Her unique journey allows her to connect deeply with both survivors and their advocates in the field.
